Job Title:                                  Sr. Data Engineer

 

Job duration:                            40 Hours / Week, Permanent position, Full time

 

Job Duties Design, develop, implement, and support overall data eco-system which consolidates into an Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW). Analyze and translate business needs into long-term solution data models. Define logical and physical data models and extend data management platform architecture based on useful data sources and maintain constantly evolving data model which will serve the business data needs. Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality. Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems. Build and support ETL/ELT and data architectures within the data eco-system. Execute and maintain standards and practices for adding new data sources into ecosystem, development, data quality, and support within the EDW. Ensure proper documentation, versioning, and data cataloging is performed for all data consumed & modelled within the EDW. Implementing comprehensive testing and monitoring processes to ensure data quality and timely error detection. Work with developers to validate data and its quality rules after Initial load and CDC. Developing best practices for data coding to ensure consistency within the system. Evaluating implemented data systems for variances, discrepancies, and efficiency. Troubleshooting and optimizing existing data systems. Prepare test scenarios which will be used by the developers to test the pipeline code. Review the test cases and test results prepared by the testing team and make sure the requirements are translated appropriately. Ensure proper configuration management and change controls are implemented. Provides technical assistance and cross training to other team members. Create the data lake platform for the raw data from S3 to SQL Server/Athena for the users to investigate the untransformed data using Self-Service reports versus the transformed data. Understand the automation needs and try to automate the data and the testing pipelines. Demonstrate verbal and written communication skills, and ability to interface with Business, Analytics, and IT organizations. Work with management to prioritize business and information needs. Prepare and present status updates on the projects accurately to the management teams. Participate in customer project design reviews, change control and other CAB meetings as required. Coordinate and direct activity to remediate issues, including interaction with suppliers and contractors. Direct the activity of engineers and technicians as team lead, to assist with and complete required tasks.

 

Job Requirements: Required Bachelor’s or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, MIS, Information Technology, Engineering (Any), or any related field + 5 years of experience in the job offered, Developer, Data Analyst, Database Architect, Software Engineer, or related. Must be able to travel/relocate to various client sites throughout the U.S.

 

Salary Range:                                       $196,685.00/Year to $200,000.00/Year

Job Duties Making key decisions regarding the evolution of the organization infrastructure, such as hybrid cloud architecture. Manage network hardware, topology, and connectivity in physical data centers and cloud. Enhance ability to maintain network by automating traditional tasks such as network configuration, software deployment, and hardware provisioning. Ensure mission-critical services operate reliably by triaging and fixing operational issues, participating in post-mortems, and implementing improvements to prevent future issues. Responsible for liaising with third parties, vendors, and internet service providers. Deploy to various data centers for onsite networking projects. Participate in managing production data center environments, including hardware provisioning, network device configuration, and capacity planning. Implement networking protocols such as BGP, MPLS, VLANs, DNS. Work with devices such as Palo Alto Firewalls, Cisco and Juniper switches. Responsibilities involve designing and implementing novel network solutions or enhancing the efficiency of current networks. Maximizing network performance by continually monitoring and troubleshooting it. Conducting disaster recovery operations and data backups when necessary. Evaluating network performance regularly to assess the need for adjustments. Proficiency in implementing, administering, and troubleshooting network infrastructure devices like wireless access points, firewalls, routers, switches, and controllers. Generating precise network diagrams and documentation to design and plan network communication systems.
